Overpass corrosion monitoring. Motorway A2.

Installation of a sensor for corrosion monitoring on the A2 motorway, carried out by Acciona. The system was installed during the repair of a beam that suffered from advanced corrosion in an overpass on the A2 motorway. The Corrochip sensor has been integrated together with the new reinforcements incorporated in the structural reinforcement.

RDC (Research & Development Concretes)

Farming rafts for the cultivation of mussels. SELMUS Project, Ría de Arousa.

The Corrochip system has been included by RDC in its design of the farming rafts built within the framework of the SELMUS project.

Trials in farming rafts carried out with new materials such as high performance concrete (UHPFRC) are important to validate their suitability and applicability in marine environments. In this type of environment, with a high salt concentration, the phenomenon of corrosion in reinforcement is a common problem when using conventional concretes. Monitoring with the sensors in this structure is making it possible to verify that there are no active corrosion processes. The implementation of a continuous and remote monitoring in offshore infrastructures of this type, provide a high added value thanks to Corrochip.

Farming raft installed in the port of Valencia. ReSHEALience Project, Pilot 3 (TRL7).

Formex® farming raft manufactured by PREFFOR and installed in the port of Valencia within the ReSHEALience project (Pilot 3, TRL7). Each of the ten secondary beams is different since they have different combinations at the level of material-dosage and levels of prestress. Consequently, there are different levels of cracking in service.
By incorporating the sensors of the Corrochip system, it is possible to obtain information on the corrosion processes and evaluate the behavior of the beams in a cracked state in real time and remotely.
